About

Born with the innate drive to be a country artist, at a mere ten years old Annie Kennedy set her sights on success, opened a phone book in search of a manager and has been on her journey to Music City ever since.

Annie grew up in the Chicago area, and attended college at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, where she studied Commercial Music with a vocal emphasis, and graduated with an array of musical experiences. Notable accomplishments include 3 years singing with the world-renowned University Choir, who toured the US each year, and overseas to China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong in 2008, and 4 years in various Vocal Jazz and Madrigal ensembles. Through her commercial music studies, she gained experience producing, engineering, and working as a session musician in the recording studio. College was also the time that Annie began to explore her passion for songwriting.

After graduating in 2009, Annie moved to Nashville. She immediately immersed herself in the talented community that is Music City, writing with as many songwriters as possible. Those first few years of hard work culminated in her debut EP, "Highway Songs," which was released in 2011 to high praise from critics and fans alike. She blended contemporary and classic country sounds with folk-pop and a bit of rock influence for a project that stood out from the crowd. Said Patrick Conlan of Illinois Entertainer, "It's easy to get swamped by the sea of faceless, bland singer/songwriters who pass through the office. Annie Kennedy, however, hit a crucial nerve with Highway Songs..."

Annie followed up that strong debut with the soaring pop-country single "Second Hand Heart" in 2013, and the full length album "Limitless: The ShowRoom Sessions" in 2015. She supported these releases with live shows across the Midwest and Southeast, and independently booked a short tour in Amsterdam in 2017.

One of Annie's proudest accomplishments was being featured as a "Trailblazer" in the national campaign for RocketBuster Boots in 2016. Other notable "Very Nashville" experiences include performing in Lorrie Morgan's "Enchanted Christmas" at the Garylord Opryland Hotel & Resort, and opening for the legendary Wanda Jackson at a birthday party for fashion Icon Manuel, as part of a Johnny Cash Cover band.

Annie continues to write and perform around Nashville, and is also a sought-after voice, piano and guitar instructor, studio vocalist, and professional ensemble/ event singer. For more on Annie's teaching and professional vocalist work, please visit her studio website.

"With her determination and passion for the craft, that future is looking bright for Kennedy.”
